Our mission is to improve the lives and conditions of rural communities in Cambodia, through dedication to sustainable clean water, healthcare & education.

Our priority is the well-being of women and children.

We work with the local communities and empower them through innovation, partnerships, and medical education. We target schools, hospitals and health centres to supply them with clean water and medical training programs, including train-the-trainer. In addition, we work directly with local community leaders to ensure long-term independence and sustainability.

Our past projects include cataract operations, midwifery and paediatric emergency care training, in addition to installing clean water systems where needed.

We listen to locals.
We learn about their problems.
We go where we are needed.

Who is WAH?

WAH (Water and Healthcare) Foundation is a Cambodia registered NGO (#1269) and Singapore registered not-for-profit organisation.

WAH’s mission is to improve the life and conditions of underserved rural communities. WAH started in Kampong Chhnang province in 2009, with the aim of creating impact for over 500,000 people through access to clean water and improved healthcare.

Where is WAH?

Only two hours from Phnom Penh.

WAH operates in the province of Kampong Chhnang, located in the central region of Cambodia, south east of Tonle Sap, and with Tonle Sap river running through the province.

Kampong Chhnang is more than 5,500 square kilometers with a population of over 500,000 people.

Why & how of WAH?

Because clean water changes everything.

WAH has been working directly with the Provincial Health Department in order to provide sustainable solutions from the bottom up. First, WAH installed water tanks; an ongoing project. Then we introduced train-the-trainer program to improve midwife and paediatric medical training. And lastly, we started scholarship to send young women to tertiary studies.
