We were delighted to receive a special medical training invitation from KKH in Singapore at the start of 2020. A special opportunity for our Executive Director Dr Rany & Dr Peng Keatha (pictured above) to participate in a senior refresher midwife training course. Members of our core Train-the-Trainer medical team benefited enormously from a week-long medical refresher course in Singapore - an invaluable way to keep updated on new initiatives and life approaches to midwife emergency care and newborn treatment. During the visit to Singapore, Dr Rany & the team were also invited to spend time at Mount Alvernia Hospital with a specialist team who have previously trained with WAH in Cambodia

Over the last five years doctors and nurses from Cambodia have been visiting KKH and Mount Alvernia hospitals for awareness trips and as observers in training programs. WAH identifies midwives, nurses and doctors who show special skills during our training in Kampong Chhnang, and sends them to Singapore. The local medical staff are excited to have the opportunity to gain experience from the Singapore system at KKH and Mount Alvernia. All staff who have been to Singapore have become CORE trainers under the Train-the-Trainer program.
